Aloe vera (syn. A. barbadensis Mill., A. vulgaris Lam.) is native to the Arabian Peninsula and East Africa. It has been cultivated since ancient times in the Canary Islands, the Mediterranean, and North Africa.

Cultivated for its sap with astonishing pharmacological properties (healing, digestion, etc.) and used in cosmetics, it is also a very pretty ornamental plant!

Aloe vera leaf contains more than 75 nutrients and 200 other components, as well as 20 minerals, 18 amino acids and 12 vitamins.
